Last summer I shared a story of a lady who lost her limbs after a plastic surgical procedure to enhance her buttocks went wrong. Read it here: http://sibonphiri.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/how-far-would-you-go-to-become-beautiful.html

Now, this evening, I came across another shocking story, but this time it’s of a much younger lady, in fact she is still in her teens and was left in a coma after the plastic surgery to enhance the size of her breasts went wrong. A year on, she is still unable to walk and can barely speak. She is, as her own mother describes “like a vegetable”.

Stories like this are becoming increasingly common due to high pressures from the media and society for women to ‘look perfect’, having a certain type of body and way of dressing. It’s so sad to see that lives are being destroyed just for the sake of wanting to fit in with what the media falsely portrays as acceptable. If these women learned to accept and love them for who they are and what they have, such things would be a rarity. I can but only imagine what this young girl is going through inside of her. The inner turmoil she is facing.

We have heard it so many times but beauty really is only skin deep and it’s the inner beauty that outshines the outer. The outer beauty is an external attribute of what’s inside. I will speak more about this later.
