As I was sitting in the opticians waiting for the shop assistant to book my eye test I looked into the mirror. I kept looking into the mirror because I noticed I looked different.  There was a different shine, a glow that captured me.

It was the first time I said to myself “wow Sibon you are beautiful”. Growing up, I never liked the way I looked and would often compare myself to my fair skinned, pretty friends. I was very insecure and self-conscious about my looks but today I could not see that girl in the mirror. I was unrecognisable. Later, I thought about it more and I realized that God is behind the shine and glow. He is the inner beauty in me that is shining outside.

I am not writing this out of vanity in fact this is something I would never even write about but it is what God revealed to me and I wanted to share it with you. When you have God inside of you, you shine. Even in the darkest moments, there is still a glow. It does not matter what you wear, if you have make up or not, you have a beauty that is unexplainable.  People notice it even when you don’t and you begin to love yourself in a way you never did before. You become comfortable in your own skin and your aim is to enhance this inner beauty by the way you dress, carry yourself, your character, attitudes and so forth.

Whatever beauty I have, I know it does not come from me but the one who lives within me and for Him to remain in us we have to keep seeking him more and more each day and allowing Him to work through us.
