I did not watch the Olympic badminton game which caused the China team to be disqualified from the games because they allegedly played badly and lost on purpose so that they could play an easier team in the next round. However I have read the news reports and seen highlights of it. When thinking about this I started to think about the times I tried to cover up a lie or cheat my way out of something. In the end I was either caught out or had to keep covering up that lie with another lie which becomes an endless cycle. You end up being tangled inside of a ‘cobweb’, feeling bad and oppressed (well for those who have a conscience).

I once saw lying and cheating as an easy way out of a sticky situation or a quicker way to get what I wanted. In the long run, the lie will catch up with you and you’ll have a lot of explaining to do.
Honesty is the best policy! It may hurt, take longer as well as demand a lot from you, but at least you will go to sleep with a clear conscience. You will not worry about if your lie is found out nor will you always be on edge or acting shady around people. Most people can spot a liar from miles away!
