Meet Selma from Namibia, Africa. She was the second Sisterhood pledge to marry
this year, from those of us who went to Israel. She is soooo sweet. I remember her
a lot because we spoke briefly online before meeting face to face in Israel. We
got on so well because she is down to earth and so open. I remember her telling
me about her fiancée at the time and that they had been together for 6 years but
had not set a wedding date, with so many things getting in the way. I love
their story because they were together before she came to God. However when she
decided to take God seriously she left him. He started to come to the church,
at first just to please her but eventually taking God seriously himself. God worked in His life and transformed him into a man of God. Just a month after our trip to Israel,
she told me her partner had finally set a wedding date and they were marrying in
April; 8 weeks away! I can only imagine how much planning, preparing and buying
she had to do in those 8 weeks as well as continuing with her daily rountine of work and other commitments.
But she made it down the aisle and all was well.
They did not spend much on the wedding because they were
thinking ahead. They did not want to be married and yet renting a place to live
so they decided to deposit a huge amount of money on a house, which they
bought.
Many times people spend so much money on a wedding and are
left with hardly anything afterwards to carry them through the next stage. I liked the smart
move they made of investing in their future and being stable, rather than
focusing on the present. I know Selma
will be a great wife and helper to her husband.
Very nice. Thank you very much Sibon, you are so sweet and inspiring. May you be blessed more!!
