Meet Stephanie. I really found a sister in her. She is one
of the friendliest, outgoing and down to earth women I have ever met. She is so
easy to talk to, so much so that you can be open with her without thinking
whether she will judge or misunderstand you. Before our trip we emailed each
other quite a lot so meeting in person was like we had known each other for a
long time. We actually experienced similar battles and situations and it was
nice to share them with each other while in Israel .
I love her discretion
regarding her love life because she never flashed photos of her and her partner
on Facebook, telling the world she was dating and then getting married and
being flashy with it. In fact the first time I saw a photo of her and her fiancée
together was the one taken at her bridal shower or some sort of pre-wedding
gathering (I believe). I was very happy
to hear she was getting married in August and I admired her because I knew the
battle she was facing and it just confirmed to me that she really is a woman of
faith who does not allow anything to get in her way. She makes lemons into
lemonade through her actions of faith.
I also loved her mindset; not to be so focused on the
wedding, being anxious and fretting about the cake, wedding reception,
bridesmaid dresses, guests, the party etc. Rather, she set her mind on what
will come after the big day. Being a submissive and true helper to her husband
and investing in their marriage by adapting to each others ways. She did not
want anything extravagant because what matter to her is not all the glitz and
glam but the effort they both will put in to honouring and fulfilling the vows
they made to each other. For that, I respect her greatly.
