Back in 2008, I was homeless after being kicked out of my mother’s house. With not many places to go, the pastor asked her if I could stay with her while I found myself somewhere to live. At the time I was staying some nights at a friend’s place but as she was a university student I could not stay there all the time, due to rules of the accommodation where she lived and I was also staying in adult foster care homes, when a room was available (which was only twice). You can only imagine how hectic and distressing it was, having to look for a place to stay each night.
Through staying with Fatima, we became friends and got to know each other very well. She is one of the friendliest, generous and kindest people I know. We now only live 5 minutes away from each other and whenever I go to her house, I always stay there longer than I was meant to because her house is so peaceful and cosy! Its one of those houses where the atmosphere is so good, you don’t want to leave. It is not the house, but her spirit, her warmness that makes being around her so contagious!
Fatima has helped me out a lot and I see her more like family then a friend. I thank God for her because He has used her to correct me, inspire me, strengthen me, alert me and develop myself.
Happy birthday Fatima!!!!
It is amazing how God uses anything and anyone he can to be there to give us a hand right when we need the most. We are never alone, he has been taking care of us all along.
ReplyDeleteWhat you wrote about her is very inspiring, I guess the most satisfying thing to hear from someone about you is that it feels good to be around you, that you have thought them something.
Fatima is my new inspiration now lol!
