For so long I was wrapped up in guilt because of mistakes I had made. A silly comment made; an embarrassing fall; a wrong reaction towards something; forgetting to do something important that I promised to do; acting on impulse, in frustration and agitation that offended and hurt some people. Such things would linger in my head for days. I would feel so oppressed and ashamed of myself. This all changed when I embraced this verse,
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” - Lamentations 2:22-23
Despite my mistakes, sins and flaws, God gives me an opportunity each day to start again. He is the reason why I have strength to get up every time I fall or make a mistake. His grace truly is sufficient for me in times of weakness. Though we have to pay the price of our mistakes and sins, knowing that He is willing to forgive us no matter what and give us the strength to face whatever consequence, is amazing.
People find it hard to forgive and give someone who disappointed them a second chance, but not God. He lets us start again, leaving the past mistakes behind, this is true love,. "Love keeps no record of wrong doing” – 1 Corinthians 13:5
