Okay, so you woke up late this morning which made you frustrsted and your frustration was clearly seen by your work colleagues, the bus driver, passers by and the cashier at shop. You spoke something you shouldn't have and a week later you're still dwelling on it and becoming a kill joy amongst your family friends. You spent all your time and effort applying for a job, the interview went great but unfortunately you didn't get the job and now you are annoyed as ever, complaining to every Tom, Dick and Harry how it's not fair. You allow bad news to ruin your entire week, mistakes you made to bring you down and make you feel so guilty etc.

I used to dwell in self pity for days, weeks and even months over things that didn't turn out how i wanted it to or because i did something wrong. Oh how much of a pain i was to those around me, even contaminating them with negativity. When the penny dropped and i took hold of this word "God's mercies begin afresh each morning" (Lamentations 3:23) meaning God gives us a new start each day, He is merciful towards us and allows to start again each day. When i started to believe in it and act upon it, the things i mentioned above no longer had a hold of me.

I can have a terrible day, say and do things i regret, but because i believe in God and His tender mercies, i pick myself up and keep going. I learn from my mistakes rather then dwelling on them. As a result i become more confident in who I am and work earnestly on who i want to become. That's why i always have this in mind; Im not looking back to yesterday because it no longer exsits. What matters is what i choose to do from this moment on.
