For the past couple of days I have been hearing many people talking about which rave or party their going to attend, what they're going wear, who they're going out with and how much money they're going to spend on New Year’s Eve. These are the same people who a few weeks ago were complaining about their lives and how they wish things were different.

During the festive season they’ve swept their problems under the carpet in a hope that they will somehow go away when the New Year arrives. Ignoring the fact that your problem exists won’t make it go away. Unless you face it head on and fight against the very thing that is constantly affecting your life and those things that caused so much pain for you in 2012, you will find yourself going through the same situation in 2013 and every year after that. We cannot think that our life will change if we are always doing the same thing. New attitudes and actions bring new results.

For all those who are preparing themselves to “party hard” this new year’s eve, don't be deceived into thinking that one night of fireworks, excitement and drunken madness is going to wipe the problems away because it won't. They will be still there when you arrive home. Dare to be different this year. Stop following the crowd and start taking your own life seriously. Let the “new year, new me” phrase actually become a reality in your life. Start the New Year with the One who can empower you to achieve your goals and guarantee a bright and prosperous future.

I invite you to the New Year’s Eve Night Vigil at 10pm that will be taking place in UCKG branches around the world. The New Year’s Eve night vigil is for those who want a successful 2013. If you're one of them, you're more than welcome to attend.

Please visit www.uckg.org for more details on venues.
