It saddens me when I see or read about women who are willing to do whatever it takes to look beautiful, even if it means disfiguring or harming their body.

I watched ‘This Morning’  (a UK TV Morning Programme / Chat show) today and watched a lady (picture above) tell her story about how cosmetic treatment to enhance her bottom destroyed her life. The ‘black market’ cosmetic procedure went wrong and she ended up having her bum cheeks amputated as well as both arms and legs. She wanted her bottom to be bigger due to complexes she had about her "flat bum". She nearly lost her life because of this as she was in a coma for a while. In the interview, she was saying how she always believed that she was a confident woman and having the cosmetic treatment was just a way for her to enhance her beauty. But now she realises how insecure she really was.

Something she said caught my attention. She said that she "realises that things outside cannot make up for what is lacking inside. We must embrace the beauty we have within and the way we have been created." This is so true.No amount of cosmetic surgery, make up, expensive outfits etc. can compensate for the emptiness inside. We cannot hope to find external ‘cures’ for the insecurities and inner issues we are battling with. Only when we deal with our inner problems and find peace within ourselves, can we find true love and happiness. Everything else outside will be a compliment to what we already have within.

God is the only one who can free us from insecurities, complexes etc. When we find Him, we become free, totally new inside and all the beauty strength, youth, peace we long for, will accompany us. Trust me, it happened to me and it can happen to you too.
